Application of Ultrasonic Vibrating Screens in Battery Production

Unlike standard vibrating screens that utilize a conventional vibrating motor as their vibration source, the ultrasonic vibrating screen distinguishes itself through its ability to achieve high mesh counts, making it ideally suited for extremely fine screening operations.
"Battery powder" refers to the magnetic metallic raw materials-such as lead, nickel, and lithium-as well as magnetic non-metallic materials contained within batteries. Throughout the entire processing workflow, the handling of battery powder relies heavily on vibrating screen technology. The "battery powder vibrating screen" is a specialized screening device designed specifically for these materials; given the powdery nature of these substances, the ultrasonic vibrating screen is the type typically employed for this application.
The ultrasonic vibrating screen is essentially a standard gyratory vibrating screen retrofitted with an ultrasonic system. This system subjects ultra-fine powders to intense ultrasonic acceleration, thereby resolving common issues encountered by standard screens when processing ultra-fine particles-such as adhesion, friction, settling, and wedging-which typically lead to screen clogging. Consequently, this technology significantly enhances both screening efficiency and screen-cleaning efficiency.
Since the aforementioned materials possess inherent magnetic and conductive properties, safety during the screening process is of paramount importance. These materials are classified as Class 2 substances that are combustible upon contact with water. In this context, "water" encompasses not only liquid water but also the moisture present in the ambient air. Furthermore, due to their fine particle size, these materials are prone to becoming airborne; when exposed to atmospheric moisture, they can generate hydrogen gas. As hydrogen is a highly flammable substance, any contact with an ignition source under these conditions could trigger an instantaneous explosion and combustion. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that ultrasonic vibrating screens used for these applications be equipped with an explosion-proof vibrating motor.
