Ultrasound Plastic Welding ABS And PE
Apr 24, 2022
ABS resin (acrylonitrile-styrene-butadiene copolymer, ABS is the acronym of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a thermoplastic polymer material with high strength, good toughness and easy processing. Because of its high strength, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance, it is often used in the manufacture of plastic housings for instruments.
Application scope of ABS resin:
ABS resin is easy to process, has good processing dimensional stability and surface gloss, is easy to paint and color, and can also perform secondary processing properties such as metal spraying, electroplating, welding and bonding. It can be widely used in the field of electronic appliances, including various office And consumer electronics/appliances, office appliances include electronic data processors, office equipment.
ABS resin has a wide range of applications in the field of daily consumer goods, such as building materials pipes, plates or sheets, and has been partially replaced by PVC resins with lower prices in recent years. ABS resin is used in construction-related fields, where extruded sheets are used for sanitary appliances such as bath boxes, swimming pool linings, etc., in addition to injection-molded pipes and fittings, and extruded telephone cable lines are produced in small quantities.
Polyethylene: Polyethylene, short for PE, is a thermoplastic resin prepared by the polymerization of ethylene. In industry, copolymers of ethylene with a small amount of α -olefin are also included. Polyethylene is odorless, non-toxic, feel like wax, with excellent low temperature resistance (the lowest temperature can be up to -70 ~ -100℃), good chemical stability, resistance to the erosion of most acid and alkali (not resistant to oxidizing acid), insoluble in general solvents at room temperature, small water absorption, excellent electrical insulation performance.
PE application range:
High pressure polyethylene: more than half used for film products, followed by pipe, injection molding products, wire wrapping layer, etc.
Medium and low pressure polyethylene: mainly injection molding products and hollow products;
Ultra high pressure POLYETHYLENE: Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMPE) can be used as engineering plastics due to its excellent comprehensive properties.
