1. Welding Parameters:
Insufficient Welding Power: Inadequate power results in insufficient friction and plastic deformation at the metal interface, preventing the formation of a strong bond. For instance, when welding thicker metal materials, if the power output is not increased accordingly, a weak weld is likely to occur.

 

Insufficient Welding Time: A welding duration that is too short leads to incomplete atomic diffusion at the interface, preventing the metals from fusing effectively. For example, when welding multi-layered metal materials, an excessively short duration does not allow for sufficient atomic exchange between the layers, resulting in low weld strength.

 

2. Inappropriate Vibration Frequency and Amplitude:
Frequency Issues: An unsuitable frequency affects the frictional conditions at the metal surface. If the frequency deviates from the optimal range specific to the metal material being welded, it becomes difficult to generate sufficient heat to soften the metal, thereby preventing a secure weld.

 

Amplitude Issues: If the amplitude is too low, the vertical displacement of the welding tool tip is insufficient to provide the energy required for the metals to make full contact and bond. Conversely, an amplitude that is too high may cause excessive deformation at the weld joint-or even lead to cracking-thereby compromising the strength of the weld.

 

3. Improper Welding Pressure:
Insufficient Pressure: Inadequate pressure results in loose contact between the metal surfaces and insufficient interfacial friction, leading to low efficiency in the transmission of ultrasonic energy and making effective welding difficult.

 

Excessive Pressure: Overly high pressure causes the contact between the metals to be too tight, which hinders the transmission of vibration energy. Furthermore, it may cause damage to the metal surfaces, thereby compromising the overall quality of the weld.
