What Is The Principle Of Ultrasound-assisted Extraction?

Nov 05, 2025

The principle of ultrasound-assisted extraction:

Mechanical effect of ultrasound: The propagation of ultrasound in a medium causes the particles in that medium to vibrate within its propagation space, thereby enhancing the diffusion and propagation of the medium. This is the mechanical effect of ultrasound. During propagation, ultrasound generates a radiation pressure that propagates along the sound wave direction, having a strong destructive effect on materials. It can deform cell tissues and denature plant proteins. Simultaneously, it can impart different accelerations to the medium and the suspension, with the medium molecules moving at a much higher speed than the suspension molecules. This generates friction between the two, which can depolymerize biomolecules, allowing the active ingredients on the cell walls to dissolve more quickly into the solvent.
