2. Components and principles of ultrasonic welder

Ultrasonic welding machine is mainly composed of the following parts: generator, pneumatic part, program control part, transducer part.

The main function of generator is to convert 50HZ power supply into high frequency (such as 20KHZ) high voltage radio wave by electronic circuit.

Pneumatic part of the main role is in the processing process to complete pressure, pressure and other pressure work needs.


The program control part controls the working flow of the whole machine to achieve consistent processing effect.

The transducer part is to convert the high voltage electric wave generated by the generator into mechanical vibration, which is transmitted, amplified and reached the processing surface.


At present, there are generally two kinds of generators that are widely used in China: one is the bridge amplifier circuit represented by BRANSON in the United States. The protection circuit adopts phase protection and the working frequency is generally 20KHZ. Its advantages are high electric conversion efficiency, but its disadvantages are narrow range of frequency regulating inductor and poor frequency tracking performance. Another disadvantage is that the power can not be very large, the maximum is about 3KW; The other is the Taiwan machine, which generally uses class B power amplifier, overcurrent protection and bridge feedback. Advantages are that the power can be larger (such as 4.2KW), frequency tracking performance is good, in the case of high power, the working frequency of 15KHZ is generally used. The disadvantage is that the electrical conversion efficiency is low. The working frequency of 15KHZ is what human ear can hear, which reflects the large noise. There are also ultrasonic welder machines in Switzerland, Germany and Japan that use automatic frequency tracking technology. Because of its high price, it is not common in China.

TRANSDUCER part consists of three parts: Ultrasonic TRANSDUCER; Ultrasonic BOOSTER (also known as BOOSTER, BOOSTER); Ultrasonic Welding head (also known as HORN or SONTRODE).
