There are many ways to change a 380V motor to a 220V one, and here the focus is on discussing the method of changing to a 220V one without three-phase electricity,
1. When changing, the connection method of the three-phase winding remains unchanged, that is, the original star connection is still star connection, and the original corner connection is still corner connection. Any two of the three outgoing terminals originally connected to the three-phase motor are connected to both ends of the power supply (L-live wire, N-zero wire), and the remaining one is connected to the capacitor first.
2. The other end of the capacitor is connected to one end of the power supply, whether it is connected to the live wire or to the zero wire, depends on the desired direction of rotation, and the direction of rotation varies depending on the connection method.
Another more reliable approach is to install a single-phase 220V input three-phase 380V output frequency converter, so that the motor does not require any modifications.
