Product Description:
Ultrasound-assisted extraction serves as a simpler and more effective alternative to conventional methods for isolating saponins (ginsenosides) from various ginseng species. Ginseng samples were extracted using different solvents under direct ultrasonic probe conditions. The ultrasound-assisted method was compared with conventional extraction using a Soxhlet apparatus with boiling solvents. The comparison was based on the extraction yield of total saponins, analysed by thin-layer chromatography, and individual ginsenosides, analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography. The results showed that ultrasound-assisted extraction of ginsenosides was approximately three times faster than the conventional method. Ultrasonic ginseng extraction not only offers higher efficiency but also facilitates the recovery and purification of active compounds from plant material. Furthermore, ultrasound-assisted extraction can be carried out at lower temperatures, which is advantageous for heat-labile compounds.

FAQ:
1. What active compounds can be extracted from ginseng?
Our ultrasonic ginseng extraction machine is highly effective for extracting a wide range of bioactive compounds from ginseng, including:
Ginsenosides (saponins) – the primary active components responsible for most of ginseng's pharmacological effects
Polysaccharides – known for their immune-enhancing properties
Flavonoids – natural antioxidants
Amino acids and volatile oils
Utilizing the cavitation effect, the system enhances cell disruption and mass transfer, enabling more efficient release of these compounds compared to conventional extraction methods.
This makes it widely used in nutraceutical industry, pharmaceutical industry, and functional food applications.
2. How long does the extraction process take?
The extraction time depends on factors such as the sample type, solvent, ultrasonic power, and temperature. For ginseng, the process typically takes 10–30 minutes, which is significantly faster than traditional methods like maceration or Soxhlet extraction, which may take several hours.
Using ultrasonic extraction ensures efficient release of active compounds while preserving heat-sensitive components like ginsenosides. The system's programmable settings allow you to optimize time for maximum yield and consistency across batches.
3. Does this ultrasonic ginseng extraction equipment have any computer-controlled mechanism, such as an RS232 interface?
The ultrasonic ginseng extraction equipment itself is not equipped with an RS232 interface, but we do offer RS485 control functionality. If required, we can equip the instrument with this feature to enable remote control of the device.
4. What is the difference between the CQ20 and CQ28 models?
There are two main differences. The first is power: the CQ20 is a 2000-watt system, while the CQ28 is a 600-watt system. The CQ20 can achieve higher amplitude, allowing for more intensive sample processing. The higher power is also advantageous when working with high-viscosity materials, as the additional resistance may limit the achievable amplitude.
The second difference is liquid processing capacity. The CQ20 can process up to 50 litres per batch, whereas the CQ28 has a maximum capacity of 10 litres. If your processing volume exceeds 10 litres, we recommend choosing the CQ20.
