How much pressure does an ultrasonic welding machine need?
May 09, 2023
Different plastic materials determine the pressure required during welding, and choosing an appropriate pressure value has a very important impact on the welding result. If the pressure is too high, the vibration energy will be used unreasonably, the friction force will be too large, the friction motion between the weldments will be weakened, and even the amplitude will be affected. As a result, the connection area between the weldments will not increase but decrease. , the strength of the solder joint will also decrease.
If the welding pressure is too low, the ultrasonic vibration will not be well transmitted to the weldment, resulting in insufficient friction between the weldment and the welding surface, and a large part of the energy will be lost on the sliding surface, which will eventually lead to poor welding.
During ultrasonic welding, the air pressure can be selected according to the melting point (the higher the melting point, the greater the pressure value), and according to the size of the plastic part (the larger the size, the greater the pressure value). Common ultrasonic welding machine pressure is set at 0.4-0.6MPa.
If there is a problem with the operation of the ultrasonic welding machine, the equipment should be stopped in time to check the cause of the failure, and then carry out specific analysis to solve it!
