Placement and cleaning method of the cleaned parts - ultrasonic tank cleaner

Apr 07, 2023

Generally, the parts to be cleaned are placed in a cleaning tank for cleaning, which is suitable for small and medium-sized parts. If the parts are heavily oiled, they can be heated, soaked, or washed before ultrasonic cleaning. This can improve cleaning efficiency and reduce cleaning costs.
Parts with complex geometric shapes, such as gaps and grooves, are cleaned using multiple frequencies of ultrasound, that is, at several different ultrasonic frequencies.
For workpieces with particularly strict requirements, several different formulations of cleaning fluids can be used for multi slot ultrasonic cleaning, namely, ultrasonic rough cleaning, ultrasonic fine cleaning, rinsing, drying, etc
For parts with high accuracy, in order to prevent them from colliding with each other and affecting surface accuracy, a lifting hanger or cleaning rack can be made and placed in the cleaning tank.
For cleaning small parts, they can be placed centrally in a cleaning basket and then placed in a cleaning tank. Of course, the mesh of the cleaning basket should be as large as possible, and the frame of the cleaning frame will block ultrasonic waves, affecting the cleaning effect.
The issues to be noted are:
1、 The placement of the cleaned parts in the cleaning tank can be as close as possible to the radiation surface at the bottom of the tank, which will provide better results. However, it is important not to place them directly on the radiation surface at the bottom of the tank, especially for ultrasonic cleaning machines with ultrasonic transducers installed at the bottom. Long term pressure on the radiation surface can lead to heat generation, directly affecting the mechanical vibration of the ultrasonic wave, reducing the cleaning effect, and preventing the emission of ultrasonic energy under pressure, It can also cause the transducer to fall off and damage. Secondly, if there are blind holes in the cleaned part, fill the blind holes with cleaning liquid first, and then align the blind holes downward with the ultrasonic source. Due to the tension of water, liquid does not enter very small blind holes, and without liquid, ultrasound cannot play its role. Therefore, even during the entire cleaning process, it is necessary to keep the cleaning fluid in the blind holes fully filled, in order to achieve good cleaning results.
3、 For magnetic parts, demagnetization treatment should be carried out before cleaning, because after ultrasonic cleaning, even if the surface iron filings are cleaned, due to the effect of magnetism, when the workpiece is taken out, the iron filings are attached again.
